I now have a regular column in Pulse PCN which is a popular online publication for primary care. I will be highlighting the impact and potential of social prescribing, to ensure the value of social prescribing and link workers is recognised, especially by Clinical Directors. My first article is about data driven social prescribing, exploring examples such as the PCN who targeted social prescribing at working age people with multiple conditions and saw a 50% reduction in reports of chronic pain and 29% reduction in sick notes.

We invite you to join us at our virtual General Meeting on March 31!
CSPSC General meetings are an opportunity to spotlight student leaders in our community, share any updates about the collective, network, and get valuable feedback from you! We are very grateful to have a special guest speaker at this meeting, Tarek Hussein.
Tarek Hussein has been CSPSC’s “Research and Knowledge Translation” working group lead since the founding of the collective. He is a pharmacist in Kingston and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from the University of Toronto.
In his words:
“For my 15-minute talk, I plan to focus on my role as Research and Knowledge Translation Lead since the beginning of the collective and share my journey as a student immersed in research. I’ll discuss the experiences and challenges encountered along the way, the lessons learned from our scoping review work, and how these experiences can empower and inspire our student movement in social prescribing. I aim to spark a dialogue on collectively harnessing our strengths to drive innovation and foster growth within our field.”
See you there!
Please join us via Zoom on March 31st for our quarterly General Meeting!
